 Desde tiempos remotos el hombre ha ingeniado instrumentos para facilitar y agilizar su trabajo. Entre ellos se encuentran: la escuadra y compás. 

La escuadra 

Entre las herramientas típicas y básicas de arquitectos, constructores y carpinteros,se encuentran la escuadra y compás. Con ella se puede medir, crear, y cortar en ángulos. Se encuentran en diversos tamaños y tipos, teniendo cada una su utilidad. Algunas incorporan extras como transportadores de ángulos. En esta era de avances científicos y tecnológicos estas, se han adaptado a nuevos materiales y aleaciones metálicas.

Factores importantes para elegir una escuadra 

 

Hoy día se pueden encontrar una gran variedad de modelos de escuadras. Por lo que, a la hora de comprar, se vuelve un poco difícil determinar cuál es el que se debe adquirir. En ocasiones es desesperante observar los diversos tipos existentes y no conocer cuál es el más apropiado para el momento. 

Por eso, es importante, primeramente, conocer el uso que se le va a dar a la escuadra. Si es para emplearla en condiciones duras, lo mejor sería adquirir un modelo fabricado con metales resistentes. Ya que, pueden soportar por más tiempo las inclemencias del tiempo, los golpes, y descuidos. A la vez, tardan más en estropearse o romperse. 

Igualmente, es esencial escoger un ejemplar que tenga la numeración grabada. Existen algunas con técnicas de grabado que son resistentes a la corrosión. Dichos modelos son mejores porque, los números son menos propensos a borrarse con el uso.

El mercado ofrece disímiles tipos de escuadras. Debido a que, cada una está diseñada para una función y un tipo de trabajo específico. Lo mejor es escoger la que se ajuste a las necesidades particulares del trabajo a realizar.

El compás conforma por dos bases que se unen en su parte superior por una bisagra ajustable. En dependencia del tamaño puede cubrir un diámetro corto o amplio, por lo que puede crear circunferencias menores o grandes. Su uso es el de crear círculos exactos, precisos y perfectos.

El compás es una de las herramientas de dibujo habituales en escuelas, hogares y oficinas. Por lo que es bueno conocer cuál es el mejor que se puede encontrar lo mismo para el dibujo convencional como para el técnico.
