Plaza Mayor
Empezamos nuestra ruta en la Plaza Mayor, una de las más grandes de España. Se remonta al siglo XVII y corteja una fachada de estilo barroco. Es el corazón de la ciudad. Está rodeada de varios edificios emblemáticos, como la Iglesia San Benito o el ayuntamiento. La plaza es muy bonita y está bien conservada. Además de dar un paseo y tomar fotografías, puedes disfrutar de la gastronomía local en los diversos cafés y restaurantes que hay en la zona.
Catedral de Valladolid
Este edificio es impresionante. Fue construido entre los siglos XVI y XVII en el casco histórico de la ciudad. Es un ejemplo de estilo gótico. Cuenta con una gran variedad de detalles tallados en piedra que lo convierten en un monumento único en su especie. El interior no es menos sorprendente, ya que se encuentra el coro, una obra maestra de Juan de Juni, y la torre de la catedral, que ofrece las mejores vistas a la ciudad.
Teatro Calderón
En Valladolid hay teatros interesantes desde el punto de vista arquitectónico. Sin embargo, uno de los más destacados es el Teatro Calderón, ubicado en el centro histórico de la ciudad.
Fue construido en el siglo XIX. Es de estilo neoclásico y cuenta con una fachada maravillosa con columnas y estatuas que hacen referencia a la mitología griega y romana.
En el interior de este teatro Valladolid se pueden admirar detalles arquitectónicos variopintos, como las decoraciones en yeso y las punturas de los murales que cubren los techos y las paredes.
La programación es una de las más activas de la ciudad. Incluye obras de teatros, conciertos, ópera y danza.
Iglesia de San Pablo
Esta iglesia de estilo gótico data del siglo XV. Cuenta con un impresionante retablo de Juan de Juni, que representa la pasión de Cristo; un claustro, que es de los más bellos de España, y un pozo decorado con figurada de animales fantásticos.
Palacio de Santa Cruz Valladolid
Uno de los favoritos de los vallisoletanos. Considerado como la primera muestra de arte renacentista de España y fuera de Italia. Es uno de los monumentos que no pueden faltar en tu visita arquitectónica por Valladolid.
El edificio fue construido en el siglo XVI por orden del Cardenal Juan de Tavera y fue utilizado como Colegio Mayor de Santa Cruz hasta el siglo XVII. Actualmente, es la sede del Rectorado de la Universidad de Valladolid y puedes visitar la fachada en determinados horarios.
Tiene un estilo impecable que combina elementos clásicos y cristianos, como columnas, esculturas, arcos y medallones. Los patios, las escaleras y los salones decorados con pinturas son una visita obligatoria.
Monasterio de Santa María de Valbuena
Este monasterio es una joya de la arquitectura religiosa del siglo XII. Es un conjunto monumental fundado por la orden cisterciense de España. Es considerado uno de los mejores ejemplos de arquitectura cisterciense en España, famoso por su iglesia de fachada barroca.
El interior se pueden admirar numerosas obras de arte, retablos frescos y esculturas. Es un lugar maravilloso y muy bien conservado cuyo entorno inspira paz, arte y cultura.
