El cálculo de estructuras es un paso importante en este proceso, ya que determina los efectos de las cargas y las fuerzas internas y externas sobre una estructura. Por lo tanto, un análisis estructural implica un proceso de cálculo para definir estos efectos.

 

El análisis estructural suele ser realizado por un ingeniero de estructuras o un arquitecto con altos conocimientos en cálculo y diseño estructural. Para ello tendrá en cuenta las cargas de la estructura, así como su resistencia a dichas fuerzas. El objetivo del análisis estructural es garantizar que una estructura pueda soportar cualquier carga impuesta sin sufrir daños o derrumbarse.

 

Cuando se es responsable de un edificio, es importante ofrecer la máxima seguridad e integridad. Para ello, será necesario estudiar todos los factores que intervienen en el proceso de construcción. Algunos de estos factores son el soporte de la carga, los movimientos del viento, el cambio climático, o los tipos de suelo.

No importa el tipo de estructura: el cálculo estructural es clave

Las estructuras pueden realizarse con diversos materiales, como la madera, el acero y el hormigón. También pueden construirse de diferentes formas y tamaños según el tipo de edificio que se construya. Los arquitectos del estudio de arquitectura y cálculo estructural ANTA Arquitectes están especializados tanto en hormigón como en el diseño estructural en acero y madera.

 

“Cada material predominante aporta unas características y una personalidad a la edificación erigida”, explican. En sus más de 15 años como especialistas en cálculo de estructuras de todo tipo, han afrontado retos constructivos de toda naturaleza y servicio gracias a su colaboración con algunos de los mejores estudios de arquitectura de España.

 

A la pregunta sobre cuál es su material constructivo predilecto, no se mojan. “El hormigón armado es un material económico que tiene un bajo coste de mantenimiento a lo largo de los años, es moldeable y por tanto podemos adaptarlo a infinidad de formas, y tiene una buena durabilidad y resistencia al fuego”, explican.

 

No en vano, estas cualidades lo convierten en uno de los materiales más utilizados en la construcción actual. El acero, por su parte, le sigue muy de cerca en el sector.

“El acero es un material que tiene una gran resistencia mecánica en comparación con su peso. Se puede utilizar para el diseño de grandes vanos con dimensiones relativamente pequeñas, ya que nos permite utilizar perfiles normalizados, diseñar nuestra sección óptima u optimizar el material mediante cerchas”, detalla y añade: “Por su ligereza es un material fácil de transportar y montar, lo que lo hace muy útil para refuerzos y/o reformas. También puede ser reciclado, lo que es un elemento para valorar muy positivamente dada la predominancia del movimiento de edificación sostenible imperante”.

 

La madera, un material en auge

La construcción en madera está experimentando una gran eclosión. Sin duda, la aparición de nuevas técnicas, el desarrollo de la madera industrial y la preocupación por el medio ambiente están haciendo de la construcción en madera una alternativa con iguales o mejores prestaciones que el acero o el hormigón.

 

“Se trata de un material natural, renovable y reciclable, con un coste relativamente bajo por ser un material abundante, ligero, con gran capacidad de carga, fácil de montar y transportar y apto para todo tipo de entornos, incluidas las zonas cercanas al mar”, añaden los especialistas en estructuras de ANTA Arquitectes.

 

La madera es un excelente aislante térmico y tiene una gran resistencia al fuego, lo que la hace ideal como material de construcción en zonas con riesgo de incendio por terremotos o rayos. Además, tiene una gran flexibilidad y permite grandes vanos sin necesidad de laminación o elementos de soporte poco duraderos en el tiempo.

 

“En todos ellos, el cálculo estructural resulta clave para garantizar el cumplimiento de la normativa vigente y la seguridad del edificio construido, independientemente de si se destina a uso habitacional o no”, subrayan.
